Sculptra in Toronto

Sculptra is an injectable biostimulator that re-activates your body’s collagen production and naturally restores the volume and firmness you lose over time. It’s the only treatment of its kind that’s designed to increase collagen and provide long-lasting natural results. Unlike other fillers Sculptra can be used to rejuvenate both the face and the body.

Sculptra for Face

Sculptra is most commonly used to restore volume to facial folds and other sunken areas, and to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It’s the perfect treatment for nasolabial folds, marionette lines, cheek hollows, the undereye area, or other spots with lost volume.

Sculptra for Body

Because there’s no danger of migration, Sculptra is highly effective for the rejuvenation of crepey knees and elbows, the neck, and décolleté. It can also be used for a non-surgical butt lift, firming, plumping, and restoring a natural, youthful look.

Sculptra is a dermal filler that works a bit differently than traditional hyaluronic acid (HA) or silicone fillers. Its active ingredient, poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), stimulates your body’s collagen production and forms new support structures in your skin. Rather than filling in lost volume, Scutra helps your body create the elements necessary for plump, firm, elastic skin. This is why it’s called a biostimulator.

You will start to see results approximately 3-6 months after your treatment(s), and continued improvement for months afterward. The results from Sculptra are long-lasting, so you’ll enjoy full, youthful skin for 2+ years. Sculptra belongs to the line of permanent fillers.

The results are not immediate because Sculptra is a biostimulator. It takes time for your body to build up the new collagen and elastin base which will fill out lost volume and lead to fuller, firmer, rejuvenated skin.

The whole procedure, depending on how many areas you’re having treated, takes about 30 minutes. As everyone’s face, skin type, and goals are different, I always take my time to tailor my approach to your specific needs and vision.

To begin, we’ll review the treatment areas we discussed in our consultation. I’ll offer ice or numbing cream if you’re concerned about pain at the injection site. After cleaning and marking the treatment area, I’ll use a microneedle or cannula, and gradually inject the Sculptra. To be effective, Sculptra must be injected into the deeper layers of your skin. After the injections are complete, I’ll gently massage the area to ensure even distribution.

We’ll review the treatment areas we discussed in our consultation. I will offer ice or numbing cream if you’re concerned about pain at the injection site. After cleaning and marking the treatment area, I’ll use a micro needle, or cannula and gradually inject fillers into the treatment area to achieve the desired effect. You’ll check out the results to make sure they’re what you wanted! Remember that you’ll be a bit swollen.

If you have any questions about the procedure, you can contact our office before or afterward. Our free consultation service also gives you the opportunity to address any concerns before you book your first appointment.

The downtime after Sculptra is minimal. Most people feel comfortable returning to their regular activities right away. Minor redness and swelling is typical and should resolve itself within 24-48 hours.

Massage is absolutely critical after your Sculptra treatment. You’ll need to massage your treatment area for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, over 5 days. This ensures uniform distribution of the Sculptra and that collagen production occurs evenly.

After your Sculptra treatment, you should also:

  • Remain upright for 3–4 hours
  • Avoid vigorous exercise for 3-4 hours
  • Avoid other cosmetic treatments like peels or lasers for at least 24 hours
  • Avoid makeup for 24 hours
  • Stay out of the sun until any redness and swelling subside
  • Sleep with your head propped up to reduce swelling

If you’re uncomfortable after your treatment, you can take Acetaminophen/Ibuprofen and gently apply a cold compress. It’s important to treat your skin with care to ensure the best results and a quick recovery.
