Hand Revitalization
Hand revitalization restores volume and gives a healthy glow to aging hands. This treatment combines RADIESSE® dermal filler with revitalizing PRP and Mesotherapy for remarkable, long-lasting results.
Many of us neglect our hands until they’re in the later stages of aging, so hand revitalization is ideal if your hands have a sunken appearance, or you have apparent bones, tendons, or veins.
As we age our bodies stop producing collagen and elastin, both of which help maintain skin firmness and fullness. Over time, we deplete our body’s store of collagen and elastin, and our skin starts to wrinkle, sag, and lose its fullness.
RADIESSE®, the first dermal filler approved for treating hands, “fills in” sagging or hollow areas and restores the volume that’s lost with age. The results? Refreshed, youthful looking hands. RADIESSE® also works by stimulating your body’s collagen production, so you continue to see results over time.
With a hand revitalization treatment, we use PRP and Mesotherapy alongside RADIESSE® to prolong its effects.
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is a protein derived from whole blood. Platelets release healing proteins called “growth factors” that help wounds heal and tissues regenerate, enable cell growth, and reduce inflammation. When you inject PRP into your skin, the growth factors stimulate stem cells, which then produce collagen and regenerate new, younger-looking skin. PRP enhances the tone, color, and texture of your skin.
Mesotherapy treatments contain hyaluronic acid along with a cocktail of vitamins, minerals, plant extracts, and amino acids. They deeply hydrate and nourish the skin, while also stimulating collagen production.
These three treatments will keep your hands looking young for years to come.
The results from hand revitalization are immediate. You hands will look fuller with less visible bones and veins. After a week or so, the treatment fully settles and swelling/redness subside, so you can see the “full effect.”
You will need one, maximum two, treatments with RADIESSE®. The results last from 1.5 to 2 years, especially with PRP or mesotherapy for maintenance.
Before your hand revitalization, you’ll meet with me for a free consultation. I’ll get to know you and your medical history, and determine if this is the best option for you.
If you are taking anticoagulants, like Aspirin or Warfarin, you should stop taking them for a week before your treatment.
The whole procedure takes about 15 minutes. I will offer ice or numbing cream if you’re concerned about pain at the injection site. After cleaning the treatment area, I will use a micro needle to inject RADIESSE® into any areas that have lost volume. To ensure even distribution, I will gently massage the area after the injections.
After the injections are complete, you’re good to go!
There’s a little bit of downtime after a hand revitalization. Most people experience minor swelling or bruising, which should go away within a few days. Your hands may be a bit sore, which may make it difficult to perform regular activities for a few days. We recommend allowing a week to fully recover.
After your hand revitalization, you should:
• Avoid strenuous activity for 24 hours
• Avoid heat or sun exposure for 24 hours
If you’re uncomfortable after your treatment, you can take Acetaminophen/Ibuprofen, and gently apply a cold or warm compress.
